1、Lesson one CLASS OPENINGStart the New School Year Right:IntroductionsIntroduce yourself to the class in a friend, informal Way. Ask your students to introduce themselves, too in English! If some of them are too shy to speak, you can ask questions, such as: What is your name? Where are you from? It i

2、s usually easier to answer questions in a new environment than to speak independently. Never forget to praise each student for what he or she says in English!You wont have enough time for everyone to speak to the whole class in this lesson, but introductions are still important. The purpose is to br

3、ing the class together in the shortest possible time on familiar and friendly terms. This will pave the way for later success. Here are some choice: Divide the class into several groups (by row, for example). Ask the students to introduce themselves to each other. Ask for a few volunteers each lesio

4、n to stand and briefly introduce themselves.The Topic for This UnitPlease see “Teaching Techniques” at the back of this teachers guide for suggestions for introducing units. Here are some step-by-step instructions for one way to do it.Ask the students to predict what junior high school is like in Ca

5、nada.Are the schools bigger or smaller than in China?Do students have one or many teachers?How big is each class: bigger or smaller than in China?Do the students have any other predictions?Step1:Ask the students to discuss the questions in “Think about it”.Step2: let the students listen to the tape

Here are some more questions: 1) Who is the e-mail from and to? 2) What can you learn from the two e-mails?

25、 3) Do you like schools in Canada? 4) Do you going from room to room for your class? Is it good exercise? 5) Who is Brian in the second mail? How old is he? B) Second reading and further discussing T: Read the text a second time. Then well have a further discussion in groups of 4 students. The quest

26、ion for you is: What are the same or different things between the schools in China and Canada. Ill give you 5 minutes to discuss. Then you should report your discuss to our class.
