1、UNIT 5 SHORT STORIESThe Luncheon威廉威廉薩默塞特薩默塞特毛姆毛姆 作者毛姆(1874-1965),英國小說家,生于律師家庭。父母早死,由伯父接回英國撫養(yǎng)。原來學醫(yī),后轉(zhuǎn)而致力寫作。他的作品基調(diào)憤世嫉俗,其短篇小說尤為膾炙人口。常以冷靜、客觀乃至挑剔的態(tài)度審視人生,基調(diào)超然,帶諷刺和憐憫意味,在國內(nèi)外擁有大量讀者。著名的有戲劇圈子,長篇小說人生的枷鎖、月亮和六便士,短篇小說集葉的震顫、卡蘇里那樹、阿金等。本篇是典型的毛姆式的嘲諷文體,結(jié)局出人意料。 1.
