2、eriences Teaching procedures: Step 1 T introduce background information: This section helps students check how much of the new language they have learned and how well their learning strategies are working. The theme of traveling and visiting is continued, but students are presented with new cont

3、exts in which to use the grammar and vocabulary items from the unit. You can use this section to help students diagnose their own progress and problems. Step 2 Tell students to read the conversation in Part A for overall meaning first before they begin filling in the blanks. Tell them that Part A

4、includes all the grammar items they have learned in the unit. Step 3 Ask students to select the correct word(s) from the brackets and write their choices in the blanks. Students should work on their own because this is a chance for them to check that they have fully understood the new grammar item

5、s before moving on to the next unit. Step 4 Select two students to play the roles of Millie and Simon. Ask them to read the conversation out loud. Repeat the answers clearly and ask students to check their own work. They then write their scores in the paw. Tell students to refer to the Grammar sec

6、tion if there were any points they had difficulty with. Step 5 Explain the context of Part B. Millie wrote a postcard to Simon about her holiday in Thailand. Ask students to read the postcard first and then complete it using the words from the box. Remind students to work out the meanings of the s

7、entences before selecting the words. Ask one student to read out the completed postcard. Students check their answers and write their scores in the paw.
