Not only…but (also)可連接各種成分,連接句子時(shí),not only引起的部分需要倒裝。如:Not only do the nurse want a pay increase, but also they want to reduce(減少) hours. as well as 并列連詞 既……又;也;又。可連接兩個(gè)并列成分,強(qiáng)調(diào)其前面的內(nèi)容,因此連接并列主語時(shí),謂語應(yīng)與前面的主語保持人稱和數(shù)的一致 eg: I as well as my sisters am going to the park for a picnic this Sunday. 還可作“不但……而且“解,相當(dāng)于not only…but also,但前者強(qiáng)調(diào)的中心在as well as之前,后者在but also之后。 eg: It is important for you as well as for me. 另外,as well 副詞短語,意思為“也”,放在句末。當(dāng)放在主要?jiǎng)釉~之前,前面有may, just等時(shí),意為“也好,不妨,還不如” 如:He has not only finished his own work, but helped others as well. 他不僅完成了自己的工作,還幫助了其他人。 You might just as well tell me the truth. 5.There’s just as much a competition among countries to host the Olympics as to host an Olympic medal.在所有參加競(jìng)爭(zhēng)奧運(yùn)會(huì)承辦權(quán)的國(guó)家中獲勝就如同獲得一枚奧運(yùn)會(huì)獎(jiǎng)牌。 此句由as much as引起,第二個(gè)as后省略了a competition among countries Application development (拓展應(yīng)用 已給出首字母) 1.There were 20,000 players competing _in the 29th Olympic Games.
